Choose the LP5 for mobile personalization, smaller objects, and a lower-cost route into 20W fiber plus diode work. Choose the F2 Ultra when repeat metal orders can use 60W MOPA power, pulse control, a 220 × 220 mm field, dual-camera alignment, and 15,000 mm/s maximum speed.
The differences that decide this comparison
| Decision factor | LaserPecker LP5 | xTool F2 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| Laser sources | 20W 1064 nm fiber + 20W 450 nm diode | Dual model: 60W 1064 nm MOPA + 40W 445 nm diode; a MOPA-only model is also sold |
| Standard working area | 120 × 160 mm ellipse or 100 × 100 mm square | 220 × 220 mm |
| Expanded working area | 160 × 300 mm with slide extension | 220 × 500 mm with conveyor |
| Maximum listed speed | 10,000 mm/s | 15,000 mm/s |
| Positioning workflow | Rectangle, outline, or center-point preview; no integrated camera claim | 48MP dual-camera positioning |
| Metal process distinction | 20W conventional fiber for marking, engraving, and manufacturer-listed thin-sheet cutting | 60W MOPA with adjustable pulse/frequency range for deeper work, black marking, and manufacturer-listed color marking |
| Portability | 6.02 kg total listed system; handheld-ready format | 294 × 429 × 520 mm enclosed desktop format |
| Safety configuration | Standard system includes a conical protective cover; separate LP5 enclosure is sold for a certified Class 1 system | Enclosed eye-protection cover, key/interlock connection, emergency stop, and fire-safety stop are documented |
| Observed manufacturer-page price | $2,499 sale listing for standard bundle | $4,299 sale listing for dual-laser system |

Choose the LaserPecker LP5 when
- You sell at events, retail counters, or client locations where a lighter, handheld-ready system creates revenue.
- Most products fit its smaller standard field and do not require automatic camera placement.
- 20W fiber output is sufficient for your metal depth, cycle time, and product mix.
- The acquisition-cost difference is better invested in the correct enclosure, fume control, rotary/slide accessories, fixtures, blanks, and customer acquisition.
Choose the xTool F2 Ultra when
- Metal color marking, controlled pulse behavior, deeper relief, or higher-throughput metal work is a proven product requirement.
- The 220 × 220 mm field or conveyor workflow reduces fixture changes and operator labor.
- Dual-camera positioning materially improves repeat batch setup on small or irregular objects.
- Your current paid order volume can support the larger complete setup and still produce an acceptable payback period.
Important evidence gaps
Manufacturer power and speed figures do not establish real cycle time, edge quality, color repeatability, depth per pass, fixture accuracy, ventilation performance, or support response. Those require controlled tests or structured owner evidence.
LaserPecker and xTool describe metal-cutting limits under their own conditions. Material alloy, focus, settings, finish requirements, and repeatability can materially change the useful limit; BeamBasis has not reproduced those claims.
The LP5 product page uses broad Class 1 language while also selling a separate Class 1 safety enclosure. Verify the classification of the exact purchased configuration in writing before using it in a public, school, or workplace setting.
Who should buy neither?
- A buyer mainly cutting sheet wood or large acrylic parts should compare an enclosed gantry diode or CO₂ machine with a substantially larger work area.
- A clear-acrylic business should prioritize CO₂ rather than treating either blue-diode source as a general clear-acrylic cutter.
- A glass or heat-sensitive-material specialist should compare UV equipment instead of buying MOPA/fiber power that does not solve the core process.
- A buyer without safe fume capture, access control, material identification, training, and fire procedures is not ready for either system.
Complete-cost questions before checkout
- Does the quote include the exact safety enclosure, extraction or purifier, rotary, slide/conveyor, fixtures, and software path required for your products?
- How many paid units per month use the MOPA capability or larger field rather than merely benefiting from a faster specification?
- What warranty, return, consumable, filter, parts, and service terms apply in your region?
- Can your workflow hold and index the product repeatably, or does it require custom jigs and operator time outside the machine price?
- What is payback using conservative gross profit after blanks, failed runs, labor, marketplace fees, and marketing?
